There's a great big world of beer out there. It's my goal to explore as much of it as I can.
For 2011 at least, I'm trying to expand my beer-drinking horizons as much as possible. I'm setting the goal for myself to try new styles, new breweries, and new beers whenever I can. I'm trying to keep an open mind and not be so prejudiced against IPAs, so at least for now nothing's off the table. Maybe not every beer can be my new favorite, but even the worst beer imaginable is still beer. If I don't like something, hey, maybe the next one will be great.
Most of my tastings are of craft beers, but I'm not completely against trying something new no matter what. I'm doing most of this drinking from a straight-sided pint glass unless otherwise noted. I realize it's not world-class beer snobbery unless I use the proper glass for each style, but I'm an amateur and I only have so much space in my cabinets.
And since beer is best when you can share it with friends, I'm writing about every new beer I try. How many beers can I discover for myself in a year? Feel free to leave comments suggesting new beers!
